New project on climate smart financial diaries for scaling in the Nyando Basin, Kenya won

ACWFS, jointly with School of Economics, University of Nairobi; Vi Agroforestry Eastern Africa; ILRI and WUR have won a competitive grant of 250 000 Euro from NWO/WOTRO with co-financing by the Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security(CCAFS) program of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) of 180 000 Euros. 

This budget will support the three-year project “Using Climate-Smart Financial Diaries for Scaling in the Nyando Basin, Kenya”. The main objective is to support upscaling of successful interventions supporting farmers to cope with advere effects of climate change. these adverse effects in Nyando. An accompanying study of a more arid area closer to Nairobi (Wote village) highlights the generalizability of findings for areas where local interventions have yet to produce positive results.
